Opening of Lights on Tampa…chilly night but it was worth it to have such a nice visual extravaganza for the new year!

Amazing photo that pretty much recaps my whole “relaxing” Key West trip in May. Everytime I go back it gets better and better!

I dodged Hurricane Charley and was out of town for this past Hurricane Frances. A lot of people were concerned with what happened in the South Tampa area near Bayshore and downtown where I live. Below is the only evidence that remains,
photos taken from tbo.com. When I returned home Tuesday the water had subsided with minimal damage and debris in the area. In the first photo you can see Edison St. leading out to Bayshore, six streets over from mine.
I’m crossing my fingers that Hurricane Ivan takes a detour to avoid Tampa in the next few days.

One of my few pleasures in St. Louis is to visit the Botanical Garden when I’m in town. This year they had a Japanese festival during Labor Day weekend so I was able to kill two birds with one stone - eat great Japanese food while meandering through the various pathways and Climatron filled with odoriferous and colorful plantlife.
